Clayton Johnson joins the CMU Cross Country Ski Team from Boise, Idaho, where he competed for five years with the Bogus Basin Nordic Team. A member of the Boise High School Class of 2026, Clayton has steadily built his experience at the regional and national level, qualifying for Junior National Qualifiers (JNQs) for four consecutive years while also competing at Senior Nationals and Super Qualifiers. Dedicated to long-term development, he has consistently increased his annual training volume, reaching approximately 525 hours last season.

Clayton will begin his studies at Colorado Mesa University in Fall 2026, currently planning to major in Business Finance while remaining open to discovering new academic interests along the way. He chose CMU for its access to the outdoors, strong community atmosphere, and the ideal balance of being away from home while still remaining connected to family in Idaho.

Outside of skiing, Clayton enjoys road cycling, climbing, backpacking, camping, and fishing. He is excited to continue his skiing career at the collegiate level while becoming an active part of the CMU Cross Country Ski Team community both on and off the snow.
