Hometown: Kenai, Alaska
Jayna, a sophomore at Colorado Mesa University, is originally from Kenai, Alaska, where she attended Kenai Central High School. She competed in both Varsity Nordic Skiing and Cross-Country Running, with skiing being a central part of her life. Coming from a ski-focused family, her father is a 3-time Nordic Skiing Olympian, and her older sister also competed on the CMU ski team. Jayna herself is a 4-time Division II state champion in Nordic Skiing and has participated in numerous U.S. Skiing Besh Cup races.
Currently an athlete on CMU’s Cross Country running and track teams, Jayna plans to join the Nordic Ski team full-time after her cross country championship season ends in mid-November. Her dedication to both running and skiing demonstrates her passion for endurance sports and her commitment to competing at a high level.
